Setting of Regional Research Priorities in the field of Environment

Within Work Package 2 (Priority setting to structure participation in FP), the consultation session in the field of Environment was held in Skopje/FYRo Macedonia on June 16 and 17, 2009.  

It was the fifth consultation session in a series of five, dedicated to different research fields (ICT, AgroFood, Health, Transport and Environment). National delegations from the Western Balkan countries composed of different stakeholders from the region had an opportunity to discuss areas of common interest in the field of Environmental research, thus providing the basis for future common activities. Scientists, policy makers, NCPs, experts, consultants and representatives froms SMEs  took part at the event. Information on current activities within the FP7 Environment Theme and the Work Programme were given by EC representative from the Environment Directorate of DG Research. Furthermore, the participants were also informed about existing initiatives and networks in this field, thanks to the invited experts.

The event was hosted by the Macedonian partners of WBC-INCO.NET: the Macedonian Ministry of Education and Science, and project partners involved in the priority setting process also took part in the event.
