Setting of Regional Research Priorities in the field of Health

Within Work Package 2 (Priority setting to structure participation in FP), the consultation session in the field of Health was held in Tirana/Albania on May 12 and 13, 2009.  

It was the third consultation session in a series of five, dedicated to different research fields (ICT, AgroFood, Health, Transport and Environment). National delegations from the Western Balkan countries composed of different stakeholders from the region discussed and defined areas of common interest in the field of Health providing the basis for future common activities. Scientists, policy makers, NCPs, experts, consultants and representatives froms SMEs were present. Information on current activities within the FP7 Health Theme and the Work Programme were given by an EC representative from the Health Directorate of DG Research. Furthermore, invited external experts informed about existing initiatives and networks in this field.

The event was hosted by the Albanian partners of WBC-INCO.NET: the Albanian Ministry of Education and Science and Trenkwalder CIVET. Project partners involved in the priority setting process took also part in the event.
